風，有時候並不一定要颳大，也足以讓一切物換星移。

澳門小城在近十年裡翻幾個圈，旅客拿著2年前的地圖已不太準確，海岸線不斷在變，高樓聳立，商店轉手頻繁，服務態度不斷下降，從前的憩靜安寧已經靜靜消失了！

台灣藝術家蕭媺先後旅居過印度、巴西、瑞士、西班牙等國，這次隨風走到澳門駐場創作7個月，第三次來澳門的她，懷念過往美好、純樸的小城風光，海風、斜陽，那些小小曲折的巷弄、兩層式的舊洋樓、葡式牌坊……，她以畫布及油彩作媒材，畫澳門的現況，畫想像中的澳門，更多是畫古澳門的意境。澳門具東西交匯的獨特性，澳門的殖民歷史及古樸味道，往往是藝術家覺得可貴又值得記錄的事，蕭媺隨風輕輕吹來，記下她所見所思的澳門。

A soft wind may bring along remarkable changes.

Over the past decade,our city has seen really impressive changes. A map of Macao published two years ago may not provide a useful orientation for tourists, as the coastline keeps changing, buildings springing up everywhere, and old shops are constantly changing hands,with deteriorating service – Gentrification has made Macao’s peaceful and laid-back atmosphere quietly disappear!

Taiwanese artist Hsiao Mei has travelled far to India, Brazil, Switzerland, and Spain. This year, she made a third visit to Macao, engaging herself in a seven-month artist-in-residence project. Here, she is filled with nostalgia for the city’s bygone quaintness – the pristine ambiance, the sea breeze, the evening sun, those meandering streets and alleys, the two-storey old western buildings, and the Portuguese style arches. She creates canvas showing both contemporary and ancient Macao with distinctive flairs. A former Portuguese colony, the city features a unique blend of East and West with great old charm, hence an enchanting, historical city with many precious legacies worth registering.

This time, Hsiao Mei comes with a gentle wind, painting Macao’s all-time, old and new, charms through her imagination and observation.
